Aldi shoppers slam ‘nightmare’ Easter decoration that won’t get out of doors

Aldi customers have been furious after they were unable to remove a stick-on Easter decoration they bought from surfaces in their homes.

The bargain giant launched the Easter Character Door Cover earlier this year, which is a stick-on bunny decoration meant to be stuck on doors.

While many customers were initially happy with the product – and used it in their homes to celebrate Easter – they quickly found that it stuck to their surfaces with no way to remove it.

According to the product description on Aldi websitethe item is a “fun and inviting door decoration”, but some buyers have vowed not to buy it again.

Taking to Facebook, one dissatisfied customer wrote: “Has anyone else had trouble removing the large Easter bunny door decoration? An absolute nightmare after putting it on the door of mom in her retirement home.”

A second asked: ‘Who else bought those stupid bunny door stickers from Aldi UK?’

One user commented, “Had to literally scrape it off. Husband says we’re not allowed next year.”

“Mine did the same, I’m still trying to take it off now,” a second shared.

A third echoed, “Yeah, I had one too! Made a real mess!”

An unhappy customer ended up with damaging marks on his door

“I had to buy sticky remover and use a lot of elbow grease, I won’t be buying again,” said a fourth.

A fifth agreed: “Two hours, it took me even with sticky remover now to repaint my door, never again.”

Meanwhile, a one star review of the product on Aldi’s website reads: “Used on our front door and looked very effective. Unfortunately it won’t come off, the door will need to be repainted and may need to replace the mailbox as the bow tie gets glued quickly. If you get a set, don’t use the adhesive that comes with it!”

Some Facebook users have suggested methods to remove the decoration without leaving permanent marks, with one saying, “Nail polish remover veils on marks.”

“Try using a hair dryer on it first, then scrape it off,” a second shared.

A third commented: “WD40 & rub with paper towel”.

An Aldi spokesman said: “We are sorry to hear that for a small number of customers this product has not met our usual high standards and we have passed this feedback on to our supplier.”
