Anycubic has launched its new interior design 3D printing competition

Desktop 3D printer maker Anycubic has announced the launch of its interior design 3D printing competition.

Aimed at artists, engineers, manufacturers and other 3D printing enthusiasts, the competition asks participants to design and 3D print a new decorative piece of furniture for the home. Those who do not have a 3D printer can also participate, as Anycubic will also accept digital design files.

To make it worth it, the company is offering a host of prizes to the competition winners, including the upcoming Vyper FDM 3D printer and bundles of polymeric 3D printing materials.

The Vyper 3D printer

The top prize of the competition, Anycubic’s new Vyper 3D printer, was recently presented at TCT Asia. With a hearty build volume measuring 245 x 245 x 260mm, the Vyper is the company’s first system to offer fully automatic bed leveling. This completely eliminates the tedious manual leveling process, which can sometimes take up to 15 minutes, streamlining the 3D printing workflow for newcomers and veterans alike.

Equipped with a new 32-bit motherboard and a high-performance Cortex M3 main control chip, the Vyper enables print speeds of up to 100mm / s, which is 30% faster than the old Mega series. of the company. The new TMC2209 silent driver also ensures a quiet 3D printing experience, while a built-in end-of-filament sensor will stop printing if there is a shortage of filament.

In addition, Anycubic has revamped the Vyper’s build plate with a layer of spring steel, a layer of soft magnetic rubber and a special anti-scratch coating. As such, the removable bed is designed to be stronger than ever, resisting high temperature warping while eliminating the need for glue and other adhesives.

To top it off, the 3D printer comes with a new 4.3-inch color touchscreen on the front, which is larger than that of previous generations. With a maximum nozzle temperature of 260 ° C, the Vyper prints PLA, ABS, TPU and PETG.

Priced at $ 359 ($ 299 for pre-orders) and limited to just 3,000 units, the system will have its pre-launch event on June 10 at 7:00 a.m. PT / 4:00 p.m. CEST. More information about the Anycubic Vyper pre-order event can be found here.

The interior design 3D printing competition

All you need to enter the interior design 3D printing competition is 3D CAD software and a little creativity. Divided into two categories – one for those who print their designs in 3D and one for those who download the models – the contest is meant to be accessible to everyone, regardless of the resources. The two categories will each have five winners and you can only participate in one of the two.

Details on how to submit an interior design design can be found here. The deadline is June 15th.

The ten winners will be selected on the basis of three criteria: the sophistication of the interior decoration piece, the originality of the design and its adequacy with the specifications of the competition. A diverse board of directors of ten Anycubic employees from multiple departments within the company will act as judges, and the results will be released on June 17.
