Class 9 boy assaulted and forced to do menial tasks | Rajkot News

RAJKOT: A 14-year-old accused two older boys from his boarding school of harassing him. The Class 9 student alleged that he was asked to do laundry and beaten with a belt. The boy’s father filed a complaint with Amreli taluka police station on Friday evening.
After alleged harassment and harassment by his elders at Jawahar Navoday Vidhayalaya in Mota Bhandariya village in Amreli, the boy had run away from the school hostel on February 17.
According to the details of the case, the victim had only been admitted to the school this year. Since it is a boarding school, the boy had recently moved to the hostel after Covid-19 restrictions were eased and offline lessons started. The boy is a resident of Sanadi village in Kukavav taluka of Amreli district.
The incident came to light when Hareshbhai from Jhalia village found the Grade 9 boy hiding on his farm on February 17 and appeared to be in shock. He asked Hareshbhai to call his father. After receiving information about his son, the father reached Jhalia village and took his son home.
In the police complaint, the father gave the names of two pupils – one from class 11 and the other from class 12 – who allegedly ripped his son to pieces at different times.
According to the police complaint, on February 15, the boy in Class 11 accused the victim of dropping toast crumbs on his bed and beating him with a belt. The next day, the boy in class 12 ordered the victim to clean his dirty clothes. When the victim refused, the elder beat him. Meanwhile, the boy from Class 11 also arrived on the scene and both of them threatened to kill the victim if he complained about them to the hostel rector or the school principal.
Traumatized by the assault and threat, the Grade 9 boy escaped from the hostel and reached Hareshbhai Farm from where he called his father. Sources said the boy had previously been made to clean the toilets by the elderly, but it was unclear if they were the same two boys.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s father, the police charged the two boys with assault and threats and launched an investigation. Police said the victim’s father will file a formal complaint with the school on Monday.
