Emily, who has over 1.16 subscribers on her YouTube channel and 700,000 followers on Instagram, spoke to Express.co.uk about the project, including its must-have features for her dream home. Emily said the kitchen is one of the most important spaces in the house to her and explained that she was doing an extension at the back of her property to maximize the kitchen.
She said: “I’m stretching out back, which is going to be amazing, building my dream kitchen.
“I think the kitchen is the heart of a home. I love to cook, I love to cook. So that was the main thing I wanted to do.”
It is important for Emily to include many features in the kitchen to make her passion for food more efficient.
She said: “I like the efficient life, so I wish everything had its place. I wish everything was super easy.
“I’ve lived in a lot of different places. I’ve lived in rentals and I really think I learned a lot from that.

“A lot of them are in the kitchen. Little things, like a pot filler were essential for me, and a hot water tap.”
A pot filler is a specialized tap with a hinged arm, allowing it to swivel on the cooker, so that heavy pots filled with water do not have to be carried around. They are also sometimes known as pasta arms.
Hot water faucets, on the other hand, dispense boiling water instantly. They eliminate the need for a kettle and are much more energy efficient.
Emily’s vision extends beyond the kitchen and bathrooms as well. She said: “It’s a really special project because it’s my dream house. I don’t think I’ll ever have the opportunity to renovate a house like this again.
“There are little things about a property that I associate with a dream home, like having your tub separate from your shower.

“It’s a small thing, but for me, if I walk into a house that has a separate tub and shower, I’m like, ‘Wow, that’s so fancy, I really wanted to have my house.'”
As for the living room, a comfy sofa is also on Emily’s list, although she’s not looking for the “it” sofa of the moment.
“I feel like everyone wants the Restoration Hardware Cloud Sofa. It’s like the dream. But obviously we can’t get it in the UK.”
She continued, “I want to make your house look this good, but if your couches aren’t comfortable, there’s no point.”
Emily details her own renovation journey on Welcome Home, where she also shares house tours and interiors.
