Renovation of the house of Gina Kirschenheiter and BF Travis Mullen

Yes, Gina Kirschenheiter knows the size of her home has been “a hot topic” for the past few years, but The Real Housewives of Orange County The actress is far from concerned about the size of her house. “We have enough space,” Gina exclusively told Bravo Insider. “Because our children are small.”

With that in mind, Gina and her boyfriend, Travis Mullen, recently remodeled the three-bedroom home to help further optimize the space. As part of the transformation, they did some very big changes in the configuration. “We built a really nice dining room with probably the biggest dining room table ever,” Gina shared. We say to ourselves: “Yes, but we have a lot of children. “”

The couple, who live in the home with their six children combined, have also extended their kitchen island to “three times [its previous] size” when they remodeled the room. “The kids have more space to spread out, and it makes for a more entertaining space,” Gina explained. “Which is really nice, because I can have people, host and entertain. “

Of course, Gina’s home transformation wasn’t complete until she changed to some gorgeous decor. “It’s fun to design and decorate,” Gina said. “I like to do everything myself.” Among the new additions were paintings by artist Sarah Brooke (whom she had to “hunt down”), a redone closet, and some “cosmetic tweaks” to her bedroom, including a black accent wall.

“The changes have been a complete game-changer,” Gina said. “The way our house was set up before was not really conducive to a family of six children, so it was most of the thought process to change it. So everything is incredibly beautiful, but it’s also very functional for us as a family.”

However, Gina predicts that they will eventually move to a new main house. “Ultimately, I think we’re going to outgrow the space,” she shared, noting that she was “done for now” with all major home updates. . “I don’t see it as my forever home, but obviously depending on what we can realistically do, I’d like to keep this house and get something a little bigger. But that’s sort of sort of our first home that we were all a family, so it will be hard to let go.”
